Magic City (feat. Patoranking, Serani, Jael)

A unique combination of house, dancehall and Afrobeats, ‘Magic City’ is the exhilarating new single from three major talents from across the globe: Haitian-Italian producer Gianni Blu, Jamaican dancehall legend Serani and Nigerian superstar Patoranking. 

Famed for his Notting Hill Carnival anthem ‘No Games’, Serani has produced music from everyone from Sean Paul to Elephant Man. A major artist in today’s burgeoning Afropop movement, Patoranking has worked with Major Lazer, toured the US with Lauryn Hill, won MTV Africa’s song of the year, and has served as a judge on The Voice Nigeria. 

Based in Chicago, Gianni Blu’s tropical-tinged productions have received support in Mixmag, Dancing Astronaut, iHeartRadio, Complex, SiriusXM, as well from DJs Martin Garrix, Diplo, The Chainsmokers, Sam Feldt and Hardwell, plus social media influencers like Jen Selter, Desi Perkins, Elena Cruz, and Gabby David. His music has hit the Spotify Global Viral 50 Chart and he has performed alongside Robin Schulz, Borgeous, Oliver Heldens, Lost Frequencies, Carnage and other top electronic acts.  

Discussing how the song came together, Serani remembers "Gianni and I met in Haiti for a show we were both performing at. He wanted to get some work done so we exchanged contacts. We met up in Chicago not too long after and I was mind blown by his talent. His production is off the chain and we’ve kept the work going ever since."
